Description
Typbar is a purified Vi polysaccharide vaccine used for the prevention of typhoid fever. It is administered intramuscularly and helps protect against Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi.
Target Diseases
- Typhoid fever caused by Salmonella Typhi
Dosage Schedule
Single dose (0.5 mL) administered intramuscularly Booster dose every 3 years if continued risk of exposure
Possible Side Effects
- Mild fever Pain
- redness
- or swelling at injection site Headache Malaise Nausea or fatigue (rare)
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine Severe febrile illness (vaccination should be postponed)
