Description
YPBAR TCV is a typhoid conjugate vaccine that provides long-lasting protection against typhoid fever. Unlike older polysaccharide vaccines, it can be given to infants as young as 6 months, induces strong immune memory, and offers protection for several years
Target Diseases
- Typhoid fever caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi
Dosage Schedule
Single intramuscular dose from 6 months of age, Booster not routinely required, but some guidelines consider a booster after 3–5 years depending on risk/exposure
Possible Side Effects
- Mild fever Pain or redness at injection site Fatigue
- irritability in children (usually mild and short-lived)
Contraindications
- Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to any previous dose or vaccine component Acute severe illness (vaccination should be postponed until recovery)
