Description
Adacel is a booster vaccine formulated to provide immunity against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough) in adolescents and adults. It contains reduced doses of diphtheria and pertussis antigens compared to the primary DTP series.

Dosage Schedule
Administered as a single intramuscular dose. Recommended during every pregnancy (preferably between 27 and 36 weeks of gestation) to provide passive immunity to the newborn.

Contraindications
- Severe allergic reaction to a previous dose of a tetanus
- diphtheria
- or pertussis vaccine
- or to any vaccine component. History of encephalopathy not attributable to another identifiable cause within 7 days of a pertussis-containing vaccine.
Additional Information
- Adacel is part of global efforts to reduce the resurgence of pertussis
- especially among infants and unvaccinated individuals. Booster doses are important to maintain immunity
- as protection wanes over time following the primary vaccine series.
Storage Requirements
- Store at 2°C–8°C (36°F–46°F). Do not freeze. Keep away from direct light.
