Description
Prevnar 20 is a 20-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine designed to protect against invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and pneumococcal pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae. It covers 20 serotypes, expanding protection beyond PCV13.

Dosage Schedule
Single dose (0.5 mL IM) No need for PPSV23 after PCV20 (this is a major advantage vs PCV13)

- Common: Injection site pain Fatigue Headache Muscle pain Less common: Fever Joint pain Rare: Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
Contraindications
- Severe allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine or diphtheria toxoid-containing vaccines Acute severe illness (postpone vaccination)
